bastogne walnut omni

date finished: january 2017

number: 005

This guitar was made over a three week period over the holidays of 2016 and early 2017. I was on Christmas break from university and decided I would build a guitar start to finish in that time. I just about made it, but needed to finish the detail work a week later on a weekend.  This was also the first guitar to feature the now standard headstock design with the "ACER" and maple leaf inlays.

It features a stunning combination of woods: a very stripey piece of Ebony for the fretboard, a three piece Bolivian Rosewood (Pau Ferro, Morado) neck, and a one piece Bastogne Walnut body. This piece of Bastogne Walnut has nice heartwood and sapwood sections and the whole blank features very intense curly figure. Really a one in a million find (there is enough wood left in the blank for one more body).
